Okay, DW doesn't have restrictions like tumblr does. Basically, they don't go to those ugly grey thumbnails. If I wanted to post something, I would go <*img src="[url]"*> without the asterisks. Make sure it's a link to the actual image, not post if you're going this way.
<*a href="[url]"*>check out this gif<*/a*>, again, without the *s. In this case, you'd be linking to the post, not the image file.
Like other secret santas, don't post stuff publicly until the release date! If you mess up, don't worry. Your comments can be edited and everything can be smoothed over.
