I'd say I'm pretty open minded about genres and content. Het, gen, yuri are all cool with me. So if you don't ship the pair I asked for, feel free to do a character study, or a plotty thing. I'm pretty easy to please. I'm cool with any rating under the sun, and am generally kink friendly.

I love humor, fluff, plotty stuff, slice of life stuff, porn, not porn...the list goes on and on. I prefer happy endings, though am not adverse to bittersweet/ambiguous ones. I generally prefer there to at least be some hope, rather than rocks fall, everybody dies ALONE IN THE RAIN sort of thing.

One thing I really love are AUs, from the cliche to the unique, from the fusion to the crossover.. It's so fascinating what sort of depths and scenarios people can come up with.

Stuff I'm not too fond off is cheating, character bashing, extremely dark themes, noncon/dubcon, blood-related parental incest, and bodily secretions in sex that aren't blood, come, saliva or milk. Otherwise, not too big on kinks involving torture and public humiliation (or embarrassment/humiliation in general)

I described most of what I wanted in the requests, but gushing is always good, right?

1. The Manny Files by Christian Burch is a book I recommend for everyone, even if you're not much into YA. The best description I can give of it is a fabulous gay male Mary Poppins comes to say with Kurt Hummel and Rachel Berry (and their two siblings), but it's so much more than that. It's a sweet, heartfelt tale that affirms queer people as parental roles without making a huge issue of statements of sexuality, gay rights or straw homophobes encroaching on rights. It just treats them as normal, like any other person who are great caretakers and warm people and their sexuality is just a part of them.

Plus, the romance of the Manny and Max isn't shied away from in canon, and there's even physical affirmation near the end.

What you don't see a lot of is how they developed, because most of it is off screen, or Keats is too young to realize it. Throughout the novel through the eyes of Keats, and other adults, you see hints of them dating, flirting, to the point where the Manny is even considered a part of the family. And that's something I'd love to see more of, a view of them without a filter of naivete of youth or implication.

2. You know, the only things that bothered me about this book was the ending (which was probably due to the author's mental state, having lost so many members of her family at that point) and the sheer amount of untranslated French–but that's a thing of the time era.

Otherwise, I found its portrait of its characters really fascinating. Many characters are not what they seem. Monsieur Emanuel is not quite the boor he seems at first glance, nor is Ms. Fanshawe what she would like everyone else to be.

All through this is Lucy Snowe, who is no-nonsense and a point of solidity throughout it all.

It's such a sweeping and epic novel. I can't say it's for everyone, but I ate it right up.

3. I love this series to death. It is seriously my favorite show on television right now. I looove the group dynamics, the friendship, the humor and how deeply romantic and life-affirming it is. Honestly, this show is like coming home to me.

I have always preferred Robin and Ted as bros to lovers, and don't like breaking Marshall and Lily up. I love Barney/Robin, Barney/Ted, and pure gen as well.

4. I love about all the characters in this amazing game, and the tinhattery about the more ambiguous plot points is really amazing. It's got such stellar worldbuilding, a unique system and take on Shibuya styles and trends, and even deeper little things you might not get at first (like the brands being based on the Chinese Zodiac). I utterly adore the complex relation between Joshua and Neku, from how they change each other in the end, to Joshua's randomly flirty insulting remarks.

I am really not into Joshua/Eri, Joshua/Rhyme or Neku/Shiki. To be honest, I don't ship those two around much at all, and even lightly OTP them as I'm convinced that Joshua would be the scariest psycho ex-boyfriend in the history of ever, and thus try and avoid a car-throwing ex-boyfriend Joshua. I do, however, think that Sho/math and Beat/curry are awesome pairs. Also Uzuki/Kariya and Shiki/Eri.

DO THE MANNY FILES END HAPPY? TwT

If they do, it sounds like a must-read.
