New YA press seeking submissions and possible contracts
They like dystopian works? Tempting.
The Gsfest valentine's day exchange sign ups are postponed until the 21st as we need more members + I am way too busy with RL stuff to be sorting stuff right now.
Newgameplus on DW, a video game exchange is having a remix round.
Hardmode a video game fandom bigbang on DW is talking about schedules or another round.
Ten Great Gay Books You Might Not Have Read (but really should)
-I ended up keeping the Togepi I hatched because it had a nice psychic attack. Now it is a high leveled Togetic, and I am quite impressed! It just learned wish and Ancient Power, and coupled with Extrasensory and Fly, it can wreak some serious havoc. The rest of my team is made up of an Ampharos called Melleep which does insane amounts of damage with charge + discharge; a Graveler; a Quilava who I am none too happy with, considering in 30+ levels it has gotten ONE good move, and has poor defense; a Quagsire who is a lot better than the first Quagsire I took in my first playthrough of Silver, because Mud Bomb is an awesome skill. Yes, there's a lot of them that are weak to ice. Trust me, I learned that lesson when I went against Pryce. I've been toying with switching around some of them, and trying to figure out what gets the sixth place. I was toying with taking a Ghastly along. Still might!
-I was surprised by how many differences this remake has over the earlier. Often with Pokemon games their 'updates' have all of maybe some body glitter rubbed on, and some new areas, but this even has story overhaul and really different puzzles/plot points. It's odd how the puzzles part seems to be really tuned down, while the boss battles are most definitely harder. I also noted that Nintendo seemed to be taking it for an even younger audience? (They cut the gambling aspect to a minesweeper game, and replaced throwing rocks with mud, for one.)
-I ship my female character/Kimono girl. The game apparently assumes you took a boy, and she's totally got a thing for you. End of story.
-The rival is named "Heart" in my version. I think it's obvious he went evil because of a few too many Captain planet jokes. Also he appears to be slowly falling in love me as of the Goldenrod Radio tower. I BET LANCE WAS HIS FIRST LOVE, THOUGH.
-Battling together with Lance is like, the coolest thing ever. Best part of the remake ever!
