Rating: PG-13 Series: FE4/5 / FEH
Summary: Anna(s) have a new money-making scheme.
Kiran is elated at the results.
Word count: 1,935
Author's note:
This is 1000% a shitpost, but I still think we as a society need a Reinhardt with very sexy damaged artwork. I'd take it for Resplendent Swordhart if that's all I get. Maybe with some nice damaged artwork like R!Lon'Qu? Pretty please?
Anna--all of them, actually--always had some money-making scheme going on. Now, Askr's version of Anna was a little more attentive to duty. While the one that came from Ylisse was one step away from selling NFTs. (That unfortunate scam that came from her homeland, the land of steel.)
They had Cheshire grins, and bright coppery red hair. Usually she had to tell them apart by their attire.
"We've managed to find a way to fund our coffers," said one Anna.
"Let me see," Kiran said.
Anna, the one from Awakening, grinned. The sort of grin which made Kiran want to check her coin purse to make sure it still had coins in it.
"Just this! An absolute jump in technology."
Anna held up a printed calendar with shiny, glossy finish. And she sure looked happy with herself. Smug, even.
"A calendar," Kiran said. She still didn't get it.
"Not just any calendar. This stars the finest heroes in all of Askr. Take a look," Anna said.
Kiran opened up the glossy and shiny calendar. Wow, Niưavellir magitek sure was something.
She nearly dropped it when she opened to Mr. January. Who was anything but frosty. For some reason, they'd gone with a more summery theme. Maybe for people who wanted winter to be over already?
She got it now, she really did. No wonder Anna looked like that. This one picture alone was worth millions.
In the photo, Reinhardt was removing his waistcoat, drenched in glittery waters on a sunny day. The second picture at the bottom of the calendar, beneath the row of days, he stared up, this smoldering look she knew all too well, because that was how Reinhardt looks about the time her pants came off and he carried her off into bed.
Who even cared what the rest of the calendar was with a start like that?
This would print money. But it also was too powerful, the world knowing how sexy Reinhardt Schutaeze was. And the price, wow! Not since that Veronica hair piece had Kiran seen anything so expensive.
"Take everything I have!" Kiran said urgently.
Kiran held out her hands. Anna looked down, and lifted her eyebrow.
"That's two pieces of lint, a crumb left over from your last meal, and a single orb. You can't even start the gates with this," Anna said.
"Ugh, I have to take up gambling."
Anna gave her another look. "Isn't your summoning basically--"
"More gambling. I'm going to the arena and going to put it all on Reinhardt! He never lets me down! Even after all these years!"
"Betting only nets you some feathers, this ticket, a single orb, this rock and a medal," Anna said.
"Then I'll have to keep looking!"
She'd find some way to get that calendar, one way or another.
*
Kiran sat very still in the gardens of Askr. If she focused, maybe she could manifest gold right to her pockets. She stretched out her lets, and felt her boot brush against something hard.
The wind caught her white hood, pushing it back past her short brown bob. Money did not magically ascend to her pockets.
Well, she was out of ideas.
Oh, score! An orb under her shoe that she'd forgotten to pick up. Still not enough to run the summoning gates. Whose idea was it to make them run on that anyways?
She stood up. Maybe there was some more she'd forgotten to get around here.
Three more orbs she'd forgotten to get from the statute, and she was tripping like she was Sumia. Another orb that made....still not enough to make it worth even opening the gates.
At least it was something.
By the time she had enough, it'd probably be time for next year's calendar. Kiran sighed and picked herself up from the dirt. She'd find a way.
*
Reinhardt's voice was soft and warm. She gladly turned to him with a smile when she heard him call her name in the halls.
"There you are," he said. His voice was full of fondness.
"Yup, it's me."
The nearly orb-broke summoner.
Reinhardt looked just as handsome clothed as he did without them. Even after coming from battle, his black waistcoat and white pants and boots were spotless. Probably because none of the enemies even got near him. Not a single hair was out of place from his slicked back brown hair.
"I hear you went on a quest, of sorts," Reinhardt said wryly.
"It wasn't very far. I collapsed in the garden," Kiran said.
"Collapsed? Are you quite all right? Did you hurt yourself?" Reinhardt said concernedly. His brow furrowed as he looked her over. His dark eyes were quite piercing, searching as he checked her for wounds.
"I just tripped over orbs I forgot to pick up before," she said.
Reinhardt smiled. "Ah, I see."
"Moving on, I didn't know you took up posing for calendars," Kiran said. "It seems I learn something new about you every day."
Reinhardt chuckled. "Ah, that. I see you've spoken to the Annas."
"Askr is now my home. I could hardly refuse a request. And Commander Anna and her "sisters" from other worlds all said that it was integral for the future of Askr and that the kingdom was low on funds. Several more heroes posed, too."
She didn't care, though. Sure, they were hot. But not Reinhardt Schutaeze hot. Also, she wasn't dating them.
"Eh," Kiran said. She gave a non-committal shrug.
"I only saw a bit. I didn't have enough to get it. Bet it will gather plenty of funds, though," Kiran said.
"Is that so? I negotiated a copy for my own in lieu of getting any of the other rewards for posing," Reinhardt said.
"Really? Really?"
"Yes. I rather hoped you would like it," Reinhardt said.
Reinhardt removed the calendar from his bag. She lifted her arms up, unable to keep from cheering.
"Yes! Thank you! I am going to put this on my wall and be so motivated. In fact, it's going to be January forever. At least until they make a Reinhardt Schutaeze only calendar. I think the world isn't ready for that, though."
Reinhardt chuckled. "Here you go."
She held up the calendar and smiled.
"Shall I...install it in our chambers?"
Reinhardt made those words sound so much more suggestive than they were. Like there would be sex against the wall and not calendar installation.
"Goodidea," she mumbled. It came out rushed because her brain turned to mush from his voice.
Minutes later they were in their chambers. Not a ton here for decorations. Reinhardt preferred things neat, and Kiran was always busy. Honestly, they could use some bigger ones, but she didn't have enough orbs to make the castle bigger. At least the bed fit them both.
"Allow me," Reinhardt said gallantly. She pointed to the place and Reinhardt hung the calendar.
And man, waking up was going to be so much better. He usually was up before her and already off to work. Now she could stare at his drenched, glistening abs as he rose up from the water like a literal god.
Let's just say her waking up mood was going to be much better now. Even if she woke up cranky, she'd take one look at her boyfriend calendar and be in an excellent mood.
She'd have no clue what day or month it was, but that was beside the point.
But...one thing weighed on her mind and dampened the celebratory mood.
She gave Reinhardt a worried glance.
"Still...what if the world seeing how sexy you are under that Friegean uniform causes a bunch of people to throw themselves at you?"
"Then I will tell them all I am very much taken, and while I am flattered with their attentions, they are not needed," Reinhardt said.
Kiran bit her lip.
"What if it cause an ex to want you back?"
"My ex? Dear, you misunderstand. She isn't my ex-lover, she is my ex-liege. And she would not pay it any mind, or even look. She is...consumed with other things. This would not even reach her. My words never did, so something silly like this certainly wouldn't."
He remained somber a moment, but gave her a smile a moment later.
"It is all in the past. My life is here in Askr now. And I shall never return to Jugdral. Honestly, I posed not merely to help out with the kingdom's coffers, but in hopes you would like it. If others appreciate the portrait, it matters not to me. I only hoped you would like it.
She leaned up to give him a kiss. A kiss which was meant to be short, and turned longer, deeper. And only the fact it was only dinner kept it from turning to the kind of kiss that had them both falling into bed.
"And I do! It's great you worked to help raise money for Askr. You're always such a big help!"
His face softened in a smile. Reinhardt always reacted so well to even the faintest of praise. After how his time in Jugdral ended, no wonder.
And his abs? Very great. Pectorals too. Urge to lick the calendar rising...she wouldn't want to ruin it, though. Save that for licking the real thing when he got off duty.
And it'd be a very GOOD morning and GOOD night to her.
At this rate she was going to sound like Sir Frederick the wary, who was particular fond of propaganda involving naked portraits of his liege. Then again, Reinhardt (and his magnificent abs) just had that kind of effect on her. Especially if he was shirtless.
It might be a little too motivating to have that kind of Askr propaganda, though. At least the Annas went overboard and not everyone in Askr could get that calendar. With the sexy Reinhardt and 11 (or more) other heroes that she didn't even bother to see.
Except, Reinhardt stripping down in public did not happen nearly enough, she thought with a sigh. One of these days she was going to convince him to take a break and join the summer festival. Maybe if she said please, this year he'd finally come.
"By the way... Will you go swimming with me sometime?"
"Love, it's winter. You wish to go...ice diving?" Reinhardt said wryly.
"This summer! Every year you are too busy to come to the festivals....which I'm not unhappy about. You're always a big help to Askr, but....I'd like to swim with you at least once," Kiran said.
"Ah, if you wish it, I will take a break when the time comes."
Reinhardt often took on the schedules of other heroes so they could go to festivals. It was sweet, really. But it also meant he rarely ever got to go have fun. Which made her feel bad. At least she had this promise that she'd get to see Reinhardt's calendar dream off the picture soon enough.
"Yeah, a break would be good," Kiran said.
Like she wasn't already picturing how Reinhardt would look coming out shirtless from the water. What could she say? The calendar was pretty inspiring.
