Also, frick it, you get a boy and a girl and they're twins.

They'd all been out late as Ford had spent extra time to forage for her. Selena and Tell had eagerly helped him pick up herbs for her. Though, she'd all give them to him, day by day for his experiments.

Nigh half her produce went straight to her husband or her table. Her never failed to be impressed at the size and quality of her vegetables.

She'd met up with them after coming into town for fertilizer, and taken this chance to spend the walk home with her family.

Holly wore an elegant she'd won in a contest, and a floral dress. Ford wore his standard uniform. Brad had never managed to convince him to wear yellow, and she was fine with that. He looked good in purple and white. The colors matched his eyes quite well.

Selena and Tellur wore little matching red Westown outfits, which a gift from Megan. They looked just like little cowboys and cowgirls.

"Stay close. You could trip on rocks in the dirt," Ford said. His voice was firm, but not quite stern. Since the twins were born, Ford had grown even less cold. Something that anyone would've thought impossible.

Then again, none of them ever thought they'd fall in love, least of all Ford himself.

"Dad, look!"

Selena pointed up at the sky. Her little curly ponytail, so much like Holly's own, bobbed as she got on tiptoe.

"The stars are highly visible from this town. They were certainly never this noticeable when I resided in the city," Ford said.

"Ooh! A falling star! If you wish on a falling star, it's supposed to come true, right? Hmm...what do I want to wish for?" Tell said.

Ford watched the light arc in the sky.

"Were you aware that a shooting star is the actual end of that star's life cycle? The light we see is the last light it emits as it fades from existence. Some people find that sad, others find it beautiful," Ford said.

"I'm wishing for Pancakes ~" Selena said.

Holly laughed. "You just had pancakes this morning."

"It's never enough~"

"Never, never~" Tell also said. They laughed, and it was such a beautiful sound to have two happy children.

Tell tugged on his mom's sleeves. "Mom, can we have pancakes for dinner?"

"You'll have to ask your dad. It's his turn to cook," Holly said.

"Hrmm. Breakfast food for dinner. However, there is some research that shows carbohydrates are better suited for night time consumption, and breakfast should in fact be heavy on proteins..."

"Mama, does that mean yes or no?"

She chuckled. This wasn't the first time she'd been consulted as the Ford-to-English translator. Even Brad and Wayne had to ask her at times when Ford got too distracted by experiments and research.

"It's a special day, Ford. We saw a shooting star," Holly said.

"Yes, you're right. Fine, then. We have all the ingredients. I suppose a repeated meal won't make much of a difference for one day."

"I just harvested some honey for topping today," Holly said.

Both the twins cheered at that.

They started to walk towards home again.

"Papa and Mama, there's a river of stars in the sky, right? Is that the river where the prince and the princess in that one story met?" Selena said.

"Yes, that's right. Ginjiro told you about the weaver and the shepherd, and you remembered so well. You definitely follow after your dad," she said.

Ford smiled. "I see my training of memory recall in them has certainly born fruit."

From the moment they had realized she was pregnant, Ford had begun preparation of the teaching of his children. She'd had to remind him to allow them to be children, but despite that, both Selena and Tell had taken to his research instantly and almost instinctively. She'd come over for lunch to find them staring at up at his equations on the blackboard, and off to look through his books, without even much encouragement from their father.

They'd walk home from spending the day with their dad singing elements, from FE to AU.

"Papa and Mama, look! There's a river of stars up in the sky! Do you think any fish swim in it?"

"Well, there certainly is Pisces, though I do not see it right now. Do you remember the constellations I taught you?" Ford said.

"Uh-huh. See that one, which looks like a messed up W? That's Cassiopeia!"

"Yes, the vain queen Cassiopeia from Greek mythology, who boasted about her unrivaled beauty," Ford said.

"And there's the big dipper!" Tell said. He excitedly pointed up at the starry sky.

"Yes, you're correct. Can you see the summer triangle there?" Ford said.

"Ooh, I want to see!"

Selena stood on tiptoe. With a smile, Ford lifted her up in his arms. "See?"

"Wow~"

Tell's attention was caught by a yellow glow that suddenly blinked in front of them.

"Look, mama and papa! Fireflies!"

"Ohh~ It's like the the stars fell from the sky and are floating around now," Selena said.

Ford put her down, and she rushed over to see the glowing insects before them.

"The luminescence is to attract mates," Ford said.

"I wanna catch that glowy bug and take it home with me, because it's super pretty," Tell said.

Holly shook her head.

"What? I can't? Awww..."

"You might crush them," Ford said.

"But, if you're careful..."

She gently caught a firefly in her hands. Between her fingers, a small glow came.

"Wow, mama! You caught it so easily."

"I've been catching bugs for quite some time," she said.

"She's got a whole list of them."

"And plenty of blessings for it, too," she said.

She opened up her palm and let the insect fly off into the night. Every few seconds, it would glow again until it disappeared.

"Now, it's about time we all return home. While the wonders of the night sky are something to study, you all need to have dinner and have your sleep."

"Okay, papa," they both said in unison.

They sang along the elements as they went ahead, all the way up to K. The most amusing thing was Ford hadn't even started the periodic table song. He was much more straitlaced when it came to studying. They'd gotten into his research and turned it into a game all on their own.

It was Holly who passed her classes counting out on her fingers Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally to remember the orders of mathematics. She'd picked up quite a few menomics over the years, and still remembered them to this day.

"Now, what do we say to remember the order?"

"Kevin's poor cow only feels good sometimes!"

"And that stands for?" Holly said.

"Kingdom, phylum, class, order, family..." Tell broke off.

"Genus and species!" Selena piped up.

"I was gonna say that!"

"Now, be nice," Ford said.

"Okay, papa...I knew it though."

"You both did very good recalling the order. Now, go in and wash your hands for dinner," Ford said.

"Okay, papa!"

She smiled mischievously. "Did you make a wish~?"

"Hrm. Aren't these things supposed to be not shared? Or is that merely for birthday wishes? I cannot keep up with such superstitions."

"I don't remember, but I can't help you grant it until I know," she said.

He stared up at the sky.

"You've already granted any wish I ever could've had, and many I did not dare to even hope for. The only wish I could make would be for this happiness to last forever. But I know such things could not come to pass. The human lifespan is finite. I must treasure these moments and know one day, this too will end."

"Just remember, you're always just one potion away from finding the cure to every disease, and making people live forever~ I'll give you lots and lots of herbs to help you along on your journey. And occasionally be your guinea pig and take down drinks."

He smiled. "You always have such faith in me. Perhaps you aren't the one who's delusional about the reality of the abilities of man."

"You didn't think love was possible before you met me, either. You could be wrong again. It happens sometimes," she teased.

"Yes, you're entirely right. As a scientist and doctor, I forget at times that we are always completely close to the next breakthrough. What seems 'impossible' now could be laughably simple in just a mere five years time."

He paused at the door, and glanced to her.

"And what was your wish?" Ford said.

"Hmmm, I wonder~"

She tilted her head in an almost exaggerated way as she thought.

"Maybe a sweet night with my cute family, and an even more romantic and steamy night with my husband once the children have gone to bed."

"Now there's a wish I could grant, and quite handily, too."

"Will I take that as a literal promise of what to come, dear doctor~?"

He blushed, and pulled at his tie. "Well....ah, certainly, ahem, if you w-wish..."

"Your fingers are legendary among physicians. Every teacher talks about their... precision. The best surgeon the entire country."

He took a sharp intake of breath, his cheeks were quite red now.

She couldn't help but laugh, and leaned in to kiss his reddened cheek.

"Pancakes first, though. Topped with honey. I put it in the storage for you."

"I can't help but think you had this planned all along..." Ford said.

"Nope. But I knew they'd want pancakes soon enough. It's their favorite food today."

Ford got to work in cooking. In the living room, he could hear the little sing-song of Neon to Californium.
