I always forget that Palla's thing is supposed to be she's so in love with her sister's man, because of that one Shadow dragon talk where she tells Minerva "Our home is the sky around you" imprinted so deeply on me that my brain automatically assumes all mentions of her unrequited love is towards Minerva.

And so many other lines that are supposed to be about Est's husbando apparently but are so vague my brain goes "yeah, that was about Minerva."

Like: Palla: Celica, do you have someone you fancy? Heh. Oh, there’s no need to be so flustered. It’s just us girls here—it can’t hurt to talk about boys now and again. …Hmm? What about me? Well, I wouldn’t say there’s no one. Though I expect I’ll take my feelings with me into the cold earth. Giving voice to them would only hurt those who I hold most dear.

Take "boys" out of it and I would totally assume it's the FE trope of the retainer/etc desperately in love with their liege.

Weary as I am of "her love is more interesting if it's wlw", I prefer that take on Palla myself because even if I haven't played SD she's pretty devoted to Minerva anyway.

(That said, I shipped her with Cain when I played FE3 because it's habit for me to ship green peg knights with red cavaliers lol. Usually.)

Understandable, some people are stupid about it. I think it was more that SD had really strange ways to unlock their talks so I ended up unlocking the Minerva/Palla one first so I legit didn't get any of the Cain/Palla talks or anything that referenced it so I didn't run into it anywhere until later. I played the entire game through and only had a couple of those conversations unlocked.

SD in general was weird in some ways. Like, all the new characters were unlocked by killing tons of your own characters, lol. Norne is cute, but I'm not gonna kill Gordin to get her, for example!

Actually, Cain/Palla has no supports or talks or anything, not according to the FE Wiki. They don't even interact, I just shipped them because red/green lol.

YEAH, if I ever play SD I'll have to have two files and remember the trick to get Nagi AND the real Falchion.

I'd be fine with either scenario, but I think I'd rather it be Minerva just so Palla can have some kind of happiness.
