Birthday's :DD Anyways,
dir_en_gay's and
fullmetalomi's birthdays were just the other day, and BeanBean's birthday was uh, yesterday. *hearts all of you*
Also I'm just trying to get a buffer of sorts by finishing some things early. Remember the requests post is still open for next month ~
Title: all or nothing
Day/Theme: May 17 th / The coldest eyes and the cruellest hands
Series: Yami no Matsuei
Character/Pairing: Muraki
Rating: PG-13
Summary: the opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference.
It started with one death, a slip of the scalpel during a experimental procedure. He was horrified at first, as the glaring beeeep rushed in his mind like a riptide. His fingers were quick with a clamp and pressure to close the wound, but it was in vain.
Death snatched this one away from him.
But soon he rationalized, that it was their fault for pushing him to this level, the tiredness that lead to distraction that lead to his hand shaking– that someone who would demand and take and take and take deserved to die.
Another died to a wrong prescription, another due to a partner’s incompetence. But soon he got used to this, it became routine, hardly noteworthy.
Death became his intimate companion, he teased it, like one would a lover, rival, friend. It was a gambit between them shall I end this one, or will I leave it to your practiced hands?
Death was always silent, falling into step beside him and nestling in his memories and dreams at night, curling like smoke around his perfectly pressed white gloves and labcoats.
Once he wanted to save the world, now he just thought he might destroy it.
