This chapter, though, this chapter really gives us a glimpse of the depth of Yoshiki’s devotion in the manga.

After being overtaken by the Darkening. Ayumi just took a piece of glass and outright tried to shank one of her closest friends. She practically stabbed him in the process, and showed the darkest side he’d seen yet. And even before he realizes that she was affected by the Darkening, he still supported her and loved her through all of this.

For all he knows, The Darkening could be contagious. By keeping ahold of her, he could be dragged down to an even worse hell than they are now. But no matter what, he stays by her side, he holds on, and is willing to support and protect her even if he has to kick down the rules of reality to do so.

I ♥ Yoshiki so much. At least Blood Covered Yoshiki. Not too fond of Musume!Yoshiki, and the original Yoshiki is a bit too harsh and bitter for me. He kind of lacks Blood Covered's self-sacrificing devotion.

And that gets dialed up to 11 in Blood Drive. Made me teary-eyed a couple of times.

I really gotta start that Book of Shadows LP so I can get to BD. I saw some rough translations of interesting scenes, but most of them were outside of context.
