Ike hasn't eaten all day :D If Soren had BBQ sauce on him, |Ike would probably eat him too. But the fact that he could order -- that is, pick -- the super spicy hot meat dish means he probably likes it. Just seems less like freakish knowledge.
Mix of pollution and light, but the air pollution is the main thing here. If all the lights go out and the sun also goes out, you won't see the effect you were pointing at.
