So, I am completely done with Blind_go~! (actually, this deserves the giant sparkling text, but.) Much thanks to my awesome beta, Saaski :D :D :D

also, on the pimp side,

subrosa_tennis! is back. 3,500 word limit, theme being “future canon”. I’m tempted to go for it, because if I don’t do it now, I might never get to, also, I am in love with jaded!future!TezuFuji!with!an!eventual!happy!ending! But uh, the 3,500 word limit is A BIT STEEP. Even with my recent wordcount winnage.

Oh! And Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu! I uh, WILL HAVE TO GET BACK WITH YOU ON FIC OR SOMETHING. I JUST REMEMBERED :||||

I wanted Epiphora to be done today, but it didn't want to be. Also, Beckybirthday tomorrow! While these are actually just more drabbles, I feel totally justified in writing drabble as she's getting a layout, and much later, manga from me >:D Yes, happy birthday, you.

Also, some of these were supposed to be for January when I was going to go all thirty. HAY REMEMBER THAT GUYS? Yeah, me too. L FAILS

title: views
series: hanakimi
january seventeenth / I can only tell you my side of the story (late)
character/pairing: umeda, mizuki (akiha)
PG-13 for...Umeda.

The smoke is thick in the nurse’s office when she slips in. Umeda is smoking furiously, cigarette after cigarette, none of them calming his frazzled nerves.

If Kayashima was there, she bets he’d proclaim Umeda’s aura a deep black color. The blackest of black, dark and malevolent.

“That idiot,” Umeda mutters, barely noticing her presence in his anger.

She ventures a question.

“But Umeda-sensei.. if you hate him so much, why don’t you kick him out?”

Umeda stubs his cigarette out, each twist brutal and radiating irritation.

“I’ve tried , if I lock the door, he comes in through the window, if I lock the window, he finds some other spy-worthy method of getting in. Or he begs. And sleeps on my fucking doorsep all night long like a damn dog.”

Mizuki thinks deep down that if Umeda-sensei really wanted Akiha gone, he’d find ways,
lock down his heart or throw away the key to some place Akiha never could find. But he doesn’t, and all his anger is merely surface skipping, no matter the quantity, the waves smooth over and Umeda does nothing to change his supposed hated situation.

Yet she’s smart enough to know to keep these thoughts to herself.

title: better than chocolate
series: hanakimi
january twenty-first / this is the very ecstasy of love
character/pairing: akiume, of course.

Akiha can never choose, sweet bean paste (with extra sugar), toffee caramel ice cream, sweet tea, cappuccino coffee. So he puts them all together. The very thought makes Umeda’s stomach unsettled, but Akiha tales the vile, stickysweet combination straight from the blender.

Akiha is the envy of every woman, especially Io. He can eat an entire box of chocolates and not see even the slightest weight gain. High metabolism, he claims. (Or marathon sex, Umeda mutters)

Akiha loves sweet things, so no one but himself understands why he chose the most bitter of them all, why he grins at Umeda’s growls, his frowns and irritated sighs. Akiha shrugs and smiles that ridiculous, full of blinding sunshine smile.

Even though he’s tasted it all, sweet and sour, tangy and tart, he likes the tastes of Senpai best.

title: not a contradiction, really
series: hanakimi
January twenty-ninth / contradictions do not exist
character/pairing: akiume

Umeda’s actions and words are two different things entirely.

“You’re an idiot,” Umeda says (but he lets Akiha stay the night)

“I can’t stand you,” he says. (yet he doesn’t lock him out)

All these half-truths and unsaid things, Akiha holds on to these inconsistences. Akiha is prepared to stay the gauntlet, to bridge any chasm, he keeps looking for a tiny, almost imperceptible yes amidst all the refusals, all the “no’s” and doors that are shut but open just a crack, just enough for him to slip through.

title: smoke
series: hanakimi
may second / hearts have a past that must be reckoned
character/pairing: akiume, mentions of kijiume, but in past tense.
rating: PG-13

Ghosts linger in their bedroom. With each kiss, Umeda remembers a little less of Ryouichi’s face. Akiha’s kisses are demanding, a mix of passion, desire and pure adoration. Ryouichi’s kisses always left a bitter aftertaste, the familiar taste of cigarettes.

If asked he would grouse, saying that this was nothing he could stop with that idiot always whining. But deep down a part of him is slowly giving way, this wall will fall to the ground. It will only take a matter of time.

As Akiha falls asleep, Umeda smokes one last cigarette. Soon, he won’t remember what Ryouichi felt like at all.

His memories will be filled with idiocy and adoration, blond hair over the pillows, sun reflected
Ghosts only stay if you will them. One day, Umeda thought, he’d give up the ghost.
