Jun. 2nd, 2010 12:49 am1. Whoo, memorial day weekend is over.
There was:
-fail, in the form of an AMAZING sale and just missing out for it because someone had to go for a vino run to go spend time with the cunts who tried to make him pay his own way home last time. And the ones who are the whole reason we're in this situation. Oi.
Seriously, I could've gotten 20 books for 20$ (FREE SHIPPING!) And I could've stacked it with a coupon for even more awesome. I had White and Gaiman and and and it was glorious and I spent hours sorting andβ
I'm going to be bitter about this for a long time.
-the strange happening of battling against two raccoons at 12~1 AM at night.
-the win of cookies being brought home. Peanut butter cookies. Mmm~
-the sortawin of a party music marathon on the radio. Some good stuff on there, woo.
-the fail of my Sword of Mana save files deciding to randomly delete themselves. At least I'd finished the boy's file, I'd have been seriously pissed if I'd lost my file just before the end D<
The girl was at Devius' tower, though! D: Oh well, I've already started another file.

Books:
Smeyer is releasing something new. Ironically, I was just thinking that I hadn't heard anything from her for a while, so that her fifteen minutes of fame were finally over.
I just had to jinx it, didn't I?
Ordered (library):
The woman who gave birth to rabbits : stories / Emma Donoghue.
The flaneur : a stroll through the paradoxes of Paris / Edmund White.
An amateur's guide to the night; stories by Mary Robison.
I want to go on a White marathon and read Our Paris, The Married Man as well as A Boys Own Life β>The Farewell Symphony. (I only have The Beautiful Room Is Empty in that sequence) I am not sure how I am going to go about this, but it will happen. Somehow.
Picked up:
Someone To Watch Over Me by Judith McNaught <β I rented the audiobook version because it was short and the card catalogue claimed it was unabridged. THE CARD CATALOGUE LIED!!!
However, by then I was invested in the story and had to find the full version.
The Lost Garden by Helen Humphreys. Have you read her, Zau? You might like her....
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riodan (!!!)
How To Write And Sell Your Novel (Worth a skim, at least. Maybe it will help inspire me to OVERTAKE MYARU!)
Neverwhere & The Great Gatsby. Rereads, woo.
The Frenchman's Plain Jane Project < ---- This one is a Harlequin β one which I didn't get just for the lulz like I do with some of the other pulp books. It requires a little explanation. I was randomly searching a card catalogue and found it. Upon seeing the synopsis, I knew I had to get it.
The plot is French businessman + former secretary type worker.. She feels invisible and lacks confidence. He gives her a ~fabulous French makeover~ I'm guessing there's some frolicking in meadows at one point.
Now guess the au I had formed in my mind in 0.2 seconds. The first guess doesn't count.
Really, there should be more makeovers. Ammy, you should totally write Laguz Eye For TheRibsexual Supposedly Straight Guy.
Kyza and Ranulf would be ~fabulous~

myaru is still kicking my ass, and I've had no inspiration. I'm thinking of switching projects again as I had inspiration for That One. (It's called Summer Girls. It's uh, pretentious lesbian stuff? For once, the main character doesn't go insane, but she does grow pretty embittered by the time it's over.)

Writings. I've been doing them and not posting. Posting here, at least. And yes, I did finish all 31 last time. Nice.
Day 30:
in places, empty spaces Greece/Japan involving memory loss. It wouldn't leave me alone until I finished it. Finished early, but I was too cranky to post the notification (or to finish This Modern Love draft on time. Awww.)
And unrelatedly:
i can has? Greece/Japan and lolcats. Yes.
Domestic meme:
everything is as it was Clow/Yuuko
we are the riddle no one guesses France/Canada
there exists a world Azula/Ty Lee, minor mentions of Azula/Mai, Zuko/Mai and Azula/the whole motherfucking world..
I need to finish the rest of em. /opens file.
