[livejournal.com profile] 31_days September 4 - I Wish - Perpetual Motion - [TezuFuji]

Title: Perpetual Motion
Day/Theme: Sept 4 / I Wish
Series: Tenipuri
Character/Pairing: Tezuka introspective, TezuFuji
Rating: G

[A companion piece to Cheshire]

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage."
-Lao Tzu

Tezuka walks with slow, controlled steps that speak words of the dedication, passion and caring hidden behind terse vowels and evenly conjugated verbs.
He rarely speaks, rarely stops presiding over the tennis courts with an almost regal presence,
he bites back personal gain and the view of self to glean even that bit of possible strength to give back to the team, his team.

There is an air of mysticism surrounding his cool, contained exterior. He is one of the three who cannot be identified, cannot be placed into secure lines and boxes with stats that put his being to
numbers and contained data.
People wonder what - if anything, lies behind. Whispers take flight with each passing year, rumors spread and become almost laughable caricatures of him, he has become a legend in his own right - and at the root of the tales, fables, told about him is a boy who holds up Seigaku.
A quiet boy who’s too serious, works too hard, pulls off high, but not perfect scores, a boy who cares too much yet fails to show the true meaning behind it’s depth.

Fuji does not claim to understand Tezuka, despite being able to guess his idiosyncracies with perfect ease, being able to name techniques and manners of speech, he could speak of data and things deeper for hours on end, yet it would be meaningless. It would not touch the veritable qualities about Tezuka that he holds so dear. Height, manners of speaking, dry clinical data cannot convey the sincerity, the sacrifice that Tezuka has given.

Fuji has seen glimpses, outlines of the form he is slowly understanding. And he speaks words as if
he knows more than perhaps anyone else, he is the closest - and farthest away from Tezuka.
Even side by side, Fuji moves he moves just far enough away to not be ensnared, to captured.
Fuji cloaks himself in mystery, speaks of transient things and continues this dance of indecision.

Fuji doesn’t like being touched, not the mere brush of skin and skin, but the act of finding a way to touch the soul by actions or just simply existing.

Yet Tezuka waits, and Fuji wonders at his patience. They talk of simple things with vivid undertones, Fuji slowly allows Tezuka to get closer, with each step, Tezuka comes closer, not to conquer, as Fuji once thought it must be, but to tame.
One day, he will touch Fuji, and Fuji will allow him to touch even the core of his being.

One day, thinks Fuji as breathes wishes onto paper strips with unknown wisdom and distant stars with unpronounceable names, one day.

[I really lacked time to edit this piece, so please point out any errors I missed.]

I guess, I really can't emphasize enough, how much I always wait for your TezuFujis. ^_^

I think you pinned the characters down very well. I can very easily see them in your text.

I may be too tired (and hence unable to understand anything), but with my English there are two ways of interpreting this sentence: Fuji doesn’t like being touched, not the mere brush of skin and skin, but the act of finding a way to touch the soul by actions or just simply existing.
