Day/Theme: May 4th / Dealing futures from the deck of swords
Series: Yami no Matsuei
Character/Pairing: Tsuzuki

Yesterday he said goodbye to Asuka, the last handshake was awkward, loose, Asuka looked ghostly and most of all content before he left, his hair pale against paler skin.
Tsuzuki took a deep breath of spring air, partnerless yet again. At this rate he’d be setting records.
Another flip of cards, new day, new paperwork, new emptiness beside his cubicle.
In Tsuzuki’s mind there’s a silhouette of his new partner, and there are the dialogues, witty as they are, a prepared speech which he forgot to pen down.
The door opens and he goes off to meet whoever, a new face to add to the menagerie of former faces, someone else to say goodbye to.
(Perhaps, he thinks, this new meeting won’t matter much as it won’t last long. But first impressions are everything, and he always hopes even when it’s unfounded.)
