fic: filthy

Quickdrabble, apologies for any mistakes.

title: filthy
day/theme: June 9 - foul, fetid, fuming, foggy...filthy. (late)
fandom: FE9/10 | Tellius
character/pairing: little!Soren, a bit of little!Ike
A/n: possibly unintentionally connected to little voice.

There was blood caked in his hair. Soren couldn’t remember how he had gotten the wound, only darkness and a vile feeling building up in him. His memory is spinning, reeling, it makes him sick to think. All he can see is painfearangryfaces and he shut his eyes to block it out, but he couldn’t escape, they were burned there.

Soren took a shaky breath. His lungs ached. Had the kick broken bones? He couldn’t tell, only that each breath made it feel like he was inhaling fire. Pain spread through his chest cavity and he coughed

Soren wanted to get up, to move from the filthy, stinking alley, but he couldn’t will his legs hard enough. They simply wouldn’t listen.

He clawed at the dirty, grimy cobblestones. His mind was fragile details; ten days without food, the gnawing deep inside him, a hole. He hadn’t seen the kick coming, the patron drunk enough to impair his mind. Had he been nothing more than a fetid stray to the man? Soren couldn’t say, his chest still smarted from the kick, it left his skin bruised, like damaged, rotting fruit

It passed his mind that he might die here. An abandoned child, no one would mourn or miss his presence. From where he lay, he could see the stars high above him in the darkening sky. He watched him, his breath ragged, and something within him wished to live.

It was a faint spark, a bit of warmth. He remembered the boy with kind, blue eyes that had held his hand out to him, and wished to live. If only to see his face again, to feel that kindness that he had so freely offered.

Soren shuddered as he pulled himself up. With firmer resolve and shaking hands, he pushed himself up from the filthy ground. He leaned against the wall for support as he stumbled out, his chest still throbbing with pain.

He looked up to the sky and they seemed so close, within reach. Like hope, or a blue-eyed boy who was out there somewhere, waiting for him.

I love HikaGo. It doesn't pop up on the journal much because I haven't read it in a while. And my F-list is stingy with comments on the topic, which takes the fun out of posting about it! It's all their fault.

I didn't know you were a fan either. XD I know what I'm reading next~.

Awww D: Have you talked to [livejournal.com profile] issen4? Her journal is pretty much the HikaGo haven.

Well, I love the manga to pieces, but no matter how many times I wikied, Go made no sense to me. And Go isn't as easy to bullshit as say, tennis. Also, [livejournal.com profile] blind_go burns me out on the series for months at a time. But yeah, I ♥ it.
