Title: That Old Adage About Mother-In-Laws.
Series: Fire Emblem: Awakening
Character/pairing: Laurent/Noire, Tharja/Henry, Vaike/Miriel
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 2400
Summary: Upon finding out that Laurent could have feelings for Noire, Tharja is determined to test his worthiness through any means necessary. No matter how drastic or how much magic it takes.
Author's note: Tharja's mothering skills (or lack thereof) is a Big Drama in this series. On this matter, canon is constantly contradictory, so contradictory that I personally believe that Tharja is a character who you basically can't really do anything canon-wise without actively ignoring some part. Her history even has two contradictory parts. For example, her Kellam supports says she has a family, while a scene where she first met Robin says she had no family.
So, for this I focused more on her "I will painfully kill you for harming my children" ala the Future Past and her reaction to the kidnappers in Noire's chapter and other various lines, as opposed to those weird Noire supports which contradict like 70% or more of the canon fathers supports. (Like the ones where her magic has no effect on them, or like Henry who likes Tharja's magic-happy ways.) Inspired a bit by this
comic. I really like the idea of Tharja focusing her yandere powers on anybody who opposes her family and sometimes going a bit overboard. Mama Bear!Tharja just appeals to me so much.
Also uh, the comedy here is a bit black. Yep.
