fic: The Most Important Bird
Title: The Most Important Bird
Series: Ace Attorney
Character/pairing; Athena, Simon, Taka
Rating: PG at most man
Word count: 566
Author's note: kink meme: Someone submits pictures of Taka to importantbirds.tumblr.com. Simon finds out.
Happy Holidays, Kiu!!
Athena was always forgetting to knock more than once. Simon looked up from his paper (see: next fool he was going to trounce in court) as she burst in. She held up the high-tech phone which had obviously been borrowed (or likely up and snatched as Athena had to rush to share the news.)
Taka flew up in a start from his perch, and let out a startled cry.
"Now, now, you know Athena."
He landed on the desk, and ruffled his feathers indignantly.
He had to wait for his eyes to adjust. Athena was so much brightness, he had to wait for his eyes to adjust. From the brilliant yellow of her suit, to her long red hair. One of these days, she was going to win a case simply by blinding the future prosecutor with her neon looks.
At least she didn't tip over his ukiyo-e of waves across every wall that didn't have a book case or bird perch on it.
"Look, Simon! Ema showed me! Someone submitted Taka to Important Birds!" Athena clasped her hands. "Isn't it adorable? He's officially an important bird now!"
Taka let out a screech. Simon liked to think it was his version of an objection.
"He always was an important bird," Simon muttered.
She laid the phone, covered with smiley face stickers on the desk. Simon looked over it as one might look at a bloody knife that had just been extracted from a body.
Simon's brow furrowed as he scrolled down the page.
"That picture doesn't even show his best side. You can barely see his proud plumage. He looks like a blur," Simon said.
Had it been taken in court? The brown background looked suspiciously like the very court he practiced in. Then again, who could tell at this angle?
But, Athena still smiled. "Hmm, you're right. It's pretty grainy. Grainy enough to be mistaken for a monster in case. But someone still thought he was important enough to send in!"
"So these are simply sent in? That's how their 'importantness' is settled? Well now..." he smirked.
He'd show them just how important Taka was.

The next time the administrator of importantbirds.tumblr.com managed to sign in, after three weeks of the site being pushed offline, there were over one thousand messages in their inbox, all submissions of a red-tailed hawk wearing a bandana. Except the submitter had occasionally put festive hats, and occasionally, a prop samurai sword.
By the next day, there were over one thousand more. In fact, the blue site was knocked offline again because of the sheer magnitude of important birds.
When submissions closed, Simon registered themostimportantbirdintheworld.tumblr.com. If they wouldn't get the message that Taka was not simple an important bird, but the important bird, then Simon would find a new way to show them.
He broke the blue site with the amount of bird pictures he uploaded on a regular basis.
